The "Partnering in Business with Germany" program (formerly the Manager Training Program) has been assisted by IMAP for several years on behalf of the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.  Based at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy the program aims to qualify managers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the current 21 partner countries (emerging and transition countries) for economic cooperation with German companies.

This project consists of a preparation phase, a training phase, a business initiation phase with German companies and a follow-up phase. The training takes place partly online and partly as part of the visit to Germany lasting several weeks in presence. The aim here is to impart key skills for international business success and to specifically facilitate the initiation of business and partnerships with German companies. The specialist program of the international delegation visits to Germany therefore includes a wide range of measures, including workshops, networking events, company visits and, of course, a bit of sightseeing.

Most recently, we hosted a delegation from Georgia in Germany in October 2023. Around 17 participants from various industries took part in the program from summer to autumn. The training sessions provided a broad range of expertise in

  • Innovation and change management
  • Marketing and corporate communication
  • International project management
  • Development of a business plan
  • Intercultural management
  • Human resources management

This involved on-site visits to companies as diverse as CPH Chemie + Papier Holding AG, Bayer Crop Science Division, Weinheimat and Tünkers Maschinenbau GmbH.

"For IMAP it is a pleasure to sustainably support entrepreneurs from a wide range of emerging and transition countries in professionalizing their competences, and to help establish important economic relationships with partner companies in Germany. The delegation from Georgia particularly impressed us with their openness, friendliness and tireless energy to get through the extensive program in a good mood and with persistent curiosity. We wish the participants much success in their further development!„ says Rimma Kadyrbayeva, Senior Manager at IMAP.
